#GDCFNews | September 21, 2026

Coffee in Raleigh. Technology in Chennai.

… I have a little history with Starbucks.

Over the years, I worked with Starbucks leadership and recruited many of the people who helped build its early digital capabilities.

So today’s news caught my attention.

📌 What Changed

▪ Starbucks → builds Chennai technology hub
▪ SoftServe → Andriy Stytsyuk named CEO
▪ Microsoft → fourth India cloud region goes live
▪ HFS Research + Capgemini → AI pricing gets harder
▪ H-1B → talent model faces more pressure

☕ GCC Signal

Starbucks m is building its first India technology hub in Chennai, with plans for roughly 800 technology jobs.

But here is the GDCF signal:

CTO Anand Varadarajan says the company intends to bring more work currently performed by third-party service providers in-house over time.

GDCFs are helping enterprises build GCCs while those same enterprises increasingly build technology capability of their own.

That is a boundary worth watching over a cup of coffee.

👔 Executive Signal

SoftServe named longtime executive Andriy Stytsyuk CEO, effective October 1.

Stytsyuk spent 16 years inside the company and currently serves as COO and CFO. The board selected him after a year-long process to lead SoftServe’s next phase of growth.

An internal operator taking the top job at a global AI and technology services firm.

Congratulations, Andriy. We will be watching what comes next.

📈 Infrastructure Signal

Microsoft’s fourth India cloud region is now live in Hyderabad.

Puneet Chandok says India South Central turns part of Microsoft’s $20.5B commitment into operating infrastructure — with India positioned as a strategic AI hub for Asia and the Global South.

India’s advantage is no longer simply labor.

Talent + GCCs + infrastructure + AI capability are converging.

📉 Commercial Signal

New HFS Research with Capgemini shows financial-services companies are experimenting with outcome pricing while traditional FTE, SLA and license models still anchor most AI contracts.

HFS says providers increasingly need to become “commercial architects.”

That raises a recruiting question I am going to keep researching:

Who are those people — and are GDCFs actually hiring and developing them?

🧠 The Recruiting Guy Take

Not every Monday needs one giant thesis.

Today I am watching the boundaries.

Clients are building capability. Hyperscalers are building infrastructure. GDCFs are changing leadership. And the commercial model is still trying to catch up.

When the model changes, eventually the talent model has to follow.

❓ Question of the Day

As enterprises build more technology capability in-house, what should they still buy from GDCF rainmakers?
