AI isn’t killing the talent war. It’s moving it up.

📌 What Changed

▪ India IT → 57,000 active openings. 18-month high.

📈 Talent Signal | Fewer People Doesn’t Mean Less Hiring

Yesterday, clients were talking about needing fewer consultants.

Today, active hiring demand across India’s IT-services sector reached 57,000 roles for September—the highest level in roughly 18 months.

But here’s what caught my attention:

Nearly 60% of that demand is mid-senior and senior talent.

That is an important distinction.

AI can put pressure on the traditional labor pyramid while simultaneously increasing competition for experienced people who carry context, judgment and specialized capability.

This is not the end of the talent war.

It is a change in where the war is being fought.

Anand Birje officially takes over today as CEO of the combined Hitachi Digital Services + GlobalLogic organization.

His mandate brings digital engineering, AI and services together under one leader.

Again: as the business model changes, so does the leadership specification.

🤝 Partnership Signal

EY selected CrowdStrike to power the Trust Layer of EY.ai Value Blueprints.

Another reminder that access to AI isn’t the differentiator.

Enterprise value increasingly sits around what surrounds it:

context, security, governance, domain expertise and execution.

Accenture received EU clearance for its acquisition of Italian real-estate technology specialist VTS.

Not a major signal by itself—but another capability acquisition as GDCFs continue buying specialization rather than simply adding headcount.

🧠 The Recruiting Guy Take

AI may reduce the value of headcount.

That doesn’t mean it reduces the value of talent.

The people carrying judgment, relationships and specialized expertise may become harder—not easier—to replace.
