#GDCFNews | September 30, 2026

GDCFs told us what they were building. Now show us what actually changed.

📌 What Changed

⸻

⚠️ PROVE IT

Gartner predicts 70% of enterprises will abandon vendor-FDE-built agentic AI solutions by 2028—and warns of “FDE washing.”

Meanwhile, GDCFs are announcing thousands of FDEs, frontier engineers and specialists.

A new title does not automatically create a new capability.

📊 CLIENT REALITY

FTI Consulting reports 60% of surveyed large companies slowed, paused or pulled back a planned AI deployment in the past year.

Cybersecurity. Regulation. Trust.

Show me the technology → Show me why I should trust the outcome.

That changes the sales cycle.

🤝 SAY → DO

Infosys extended its ABN AMRO Bank N.V. relationship across application development, testing and support—moving beyond isolated AI.

It does not prove every workforce-transformation claim.

But it shows us where to look: what are clients actually buying and deploying?

📈 MARKET MOVES

HCLTech’s software business, HCLSoftware, is acquiring Robotiq.ai—adding execution capability where APIs fall short.

Happiest Minds Technologies says it intends to compete beyond its traditional mid-cap territory.

Capgemini completed the sale of its U.S. Government Solutions business.

Some firms are entering new lanes. Others are leaving them.

👔 LEADERSHIP SIGNAL

Coforge appointed Akhil Gupta as its new independent Chairman following a global search.

I am starting to look harder at something we rarely discuss:

Is the GDCF Chairman becoming a more functional part of strategy and execution?

More on that to come.

👀 MARKET WATCH:

Accenture THE GDCF bellwether reports FY26 results tomorrow morning.

Edge. Construct. Anthropic. Acquisitions. New markets and operating models.

We know what Accenture says it is building. Tomorrow we get the actuals versus the assumptions—and market response.

Watch for my GDCF Earnings Signal after the results.

🧠 The Recruiting Guy Take

A new title does not create capability.

An AI training announcement does not mean people learned AI.

Hiring an FDE does not guarantee an outcome.

New Chairman. New CEO. New CRO. New recruiting supervisor.

But if the new recruiting supervisor is still working from the same spreadsheet, what actually changed?

The same question applies all the way to the boardroom.

New people. New titles. New technology. Show me what changed.

❓ Question of the Day

How far down the organization does change have to reach before we can call it transformation?
